Eanes Education Foundation Announces New Executive Director

The EEF Executive Committee is pleased to announce that the EEF Board unanimously approved Kathi Haralson, as our new EEF Executive Director.  Kathi will step into the role on March 21 to begin a transition period with Wally Moore who announced his plans to pursue other interests earlier this year.

Kathi brings nearly 25 years of professional and volunteer non-profit leadership to the EEF Executive Director role, having served most recently as Director of Development for Partnerships for Children where she grew the organization’s donor base and fundraising by 20 to 30 percent each year over the last few years.  As a parent and volunteer, Kathi has served our district at every level and is known by all for her collaborative approach to achieving goals.  She is also well known to our EEF community.   As former EEF Vice President of Development, Kathi has provided counsel and leadership to our current fundraising initiatives and to the development of our EEF strategic plan – our roadmap for taking our foundation and its contributions to our district to the next level.  As past EEF Gala Chair, Kathi instituted several best practices that grew and reinvigorated the event and expanded its fundraising capacity.

We also want to take this opportunity to thank Wally for his leadership and his many years of service to EEF and our community, including seven years as Executive Director and six years as a Board Member.  As Executive Director, Wally led EEF through a period of significant growth, expanding the Foundation’s contributions to the district 91 percent from 2009 to today, raising $13 million to collectively fund 183 teachers who have literally touched the lives of thousands of students.
We hope to see you at the EEF Gala presented by Lexus of Austin onFebruary 27th for “Lights, Camera, Excellence!”  where together we will “wrap” production on our efforts to raise more than $2 million to fund 40 teaching positions district-wide next year and where we will thank Wally for his outstanding leadership and welcome Kathi to her new role.
