☀ Even though school's out for summer, our work ☀ Even though school's out for summer, our work honoring teachers is never done! Today, we're spotlighting Elizabeth Bassimakopolous, Valley View Elementary librarian. Ms. Bassimakopolous just finished her 5th year at VVE and 13th year in education overall. Her path to VVE included work as a 4th grade teacher, middle school librarian, and even a short stint in a school library in Russia! A UT graduate, Ms. Bassimakopolous enjoys supporting her students in their journey to being lifelong readers. Student Gray Allison writes about Ms. Bassimakopolous: "Thank you for being the best librarian and letting me check out 'Cool Cookies' every single week!" 💙 We’re honoring @whs_chaps legend Cathy Cluc 💙 We’re honoring @whs_chaps legend Cathy Cluck, AP US History teacher! Ms. Cluck recently retired after 25 years teaching history at Westlake @eanesisd and 32 years of education overall. She spent three decades not just teaching students but helping them think critically about history and connect it to their own lives. As she transitions away from the classroom, she's embarking on a new adventure - a six-month personal sabbatical in the UK, where she looks forward to immersing herself in the very history she brought to students over the years. 💭 The Roth family writes about Ms. Cluck, "Thank you so much for a great year! We appreciate your energy and your enthusiasm . . . thank you for everything you have done for these WHS kids!" We appreciate your legacy of not just educating our Chaps but truly caring for them, Ms. Cluck!
